The Park costs you nothing…

We are a registered charity, run by local people, and do not receive any monies or grants from the two local Councils or the County Council. Cuerden Valley Park Trust was set up in 1986 to manage the park for the benefit of all. We open 7 days a week, 365 days a year, and welcome everyone; we make no charge - not even for car parking.

The park is used by the whole community. Our education programme and conservation work are highly praised, whilst the restoration of Victorian features in the park have been highly commended by the likes of the Heritage Lottery Fund.

In a 2006 survey, just over 95% of respondents viewed the Park as “Excellent” or “Good, whilst nearly half thought it was “Council owned”. Over 71% said they would consider making a donation to ensure its future.

Maintaining 650 acres of parkland, woodland, meadows, lakes and gardens to a high standard does not come cheap. Our dedicated staff and volunteers strive to keep the park in pristine condition, given the resources available.

You can help by making a donation (large or small), either as a ‘one-off’ or on an annual basis. Without it, the Park may well have to cut back on maintenance or close facilities altogether.
